Tom Blickenstaff
classical, electric, and acoustic guitar, piano, beginning snare drum, beginning violin

Tom has been teaching at Carpenterís since 1994. Prior to teaching, he was a guitar and piano student at Carpenterís taking lessons from Alan Mason. He graduated from South Hagerstown High in 1988. He continued his education at Hagerstown Junior College. While teaching at Carpenterís, he continued his musical education by taking private piano lessons from Dr. James Douthit at Shepherd College. Tom has performed in local rock bands. He was the lead guitarist and keyboardist with Morgana LeFay and Shakey Jake. He teaches classical guitar and piano from beginning to advanced students. He is also fluent in classic rock, metal, progressive rock and blues guitar.

Arnie Helmick
bass, guitar

Arnie graduated from Frostburg University in 1987. He has been performing professionally for over 30 years in bands in Cumberland, Hagerstown and beyond. If you have been to the Blues Fest, you have seen him perfrom with Stack o' Blues, Koko Blue, 2Blue and Byther Smith. Arnie is currently very busy playing with Stack o' Blues and Prophets of the Abstract Truth. He also finds time to play bass for the praise band at Cornerstone Community Church in Hagerstown. Arnie started teaching at Carpenter's in 1993. He teaches a variety of styles: blues, rock, jazz, funk and reggae.

Rate: $17 per 1/2 hour lesson

Jeff Lockwood
acoustic, classical and electric guitar

Jeff Lockwood, a former west coast recording artist and student of Alex Skolnick, teaches all levels of rock and classical. Lessons are custom tailored, with the primary focus being achievement of each studentís desires and goals.

Rate: $17.50 per 1/2 hour lesson

Wendy Winters
flute, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, tenor saxophone, and piano

Wendy has been teaching in the Hagerstown, Maryland area for 28 years. She received an A.A. degree from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, a B.M. degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH, and a Masterís Equivalency certified in Music Education K-12. She has played in various groups in and out of the area including The Richard Bray Jazz Orchestra, Rohrersville Band, Williamsport Community Band, and the Hagerstown Municipal Band. Wendy has also led various instrumental groups at her church-Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg. Currently, Wendy is employed as an instrumental band teacher for the Washington County Public Schools.

Schedule availability: Tuesday, and Thursday
Rate: $15 per 1/2 hour lesson
